A beautiful Mauritius experience
Exquisite beaches, natural beauty, a rich colorful history and a welcoming, hospitable culture.
My partner and I absolutely love Mauritius. What’s not to love? Exquisite beaches, natural beauty, a rich colourful history and a welcoming, hospitable culture. We love it so much we have been there 7 times! So, when we had to choose a honeymoon destination it really was an easy decision, choosing the perfect resort however, was incredibly hard.
It was really tough choosing the right resort. There are literally hundreds of resorts, all offering similar pricing, similar inclusions and facilities and we really wanted something special, something different, it was our honeymoon after all.
After hours and hours of research and too many options to count, we went to a travel agent as we just did not want to risk making the wrong decision. We were lucky, we were referred to an amazing agent. She took the time to find out exactly what we wanted and we really didn’t want much. We only wanted great service, phenomenal hospitality, gourmet food, loads of included activities, spacious room, stunning beach, a gorgeous beach and Instagram-worthy views and all of this with a very tight budget because the wedding was already over budget.
Our travel agent immediately recommended Beachcomber. She had been to every one of their 8 resorts, had experienced their superb service and Mauritian hospitality first hand and promised us a truly unforgettable honeymoon experience. Beachcomber’s Victoria ticked all our boxes and what really sold it to us was the adults only Victoria for 2, having lunch included every day for free, the bottle of bubbly on arrival and the Beautiful Experience included in the honeymoon package.
Every Beachcomber resort has a range of Beautiful Experiences and because we were staying at Victoria we could choose between a Mini Moke car hire, introductory scuba lesson, sundowners at sea, full day boat trip or a couple’s photoshoot.
The different Beachcomber resorts offer different Beautiful Experiences and at one stage I even considered cancelling the big wedding and getting married at Home Affairs so that I could book Dinarobin or Paradis and choose horse riding on the beach as an experience. Needless to say, my mother-in-law talked me out of that idea very quickly!
Driving around Mauritius in a Mini Moke with a Just Married sign sounded like something out of a movie, a couple’s photoshoot is always romantic, a scuba lesson is something we always wanted to do, sundowners at sea and the full day boat trip sounded so relaxing and so exotic, how were we going to choose?
In the end we decided on the photoshoot. We got all dressed up in our wedding attire and the resort photographer took the most amazing photos at the most beautiful scenic locations around the resort and on the beach. Honeymooning at Victoria was the best decision ever!
